Common Models of RF Coaxial Connectors

This article briefly introduces various general model names, appearances and applications of small and medium power coaxial connectors, helping test engineers, especially beginners, to get a preliminary understanding of the characteristics of commonly used coaxial connectors.

"RF Coaxial Connector"

N-type coaxial threaded connector, medium power, with 50Ω and 75Ω interfaces, the two interfaces are not mutually compatible, the use frequency range: DC ~ 11GHz, precision type frequency up to 18GHz

SMA coaxial threaded connector, compatible with 3.5mm, 2.92mm series connectors, has 50Ω, 75Ω and reverse polarity interfaces, and different interfaces cannot be mated with each other. Operating frequency range: DC ~ 18GHz, precision products can reach 26.5GHz.

For 3.5mm coaxial threaded connectors, 3.5mm is the inner diameter of its outer conductor. Compatible with SMA and 2.92 series connectors. Operating frequency range: DC ~ 33GHz

2.92mm coaxial threaded connector, 2.92mm is the inner diameter of the outer conductor, compatible with SMA and 3.5 series connectors. Operating frequency range: DC ~ 40GHz, precision products can be expanded to 43.5GHz

2.4mm coaxial threaded connector, 2.4mm is the inner diameter of its outer conductor. Compatible with 1.85 series connectors. Operating frequency range: DC ~ 50GHz

1.85mm coaxial threaded connector, 1.85mm is the inner diameter of its outer conductor. Compatible with 2.4 series connectors. Operating frequency range: DC ~ 67GHz

1mm coaxial screw connector, 1mm is the inner diameter of the outer conductor. Operating frequency range: DC ~ 110GHz.

TNC coaxial threaded connector, medium power, with 50Ω and 75Ω interfaces, the two interfaces are not mutually compatible, the use frequency range: DC ~ 11GHz, precision type can be expanded to 18GHz

SMP push-in RF coaxial connector, no thread push-in connection, small size, convenient connection, excellent electrical performance, can be applied to DC ~ 40GHz PCB board connection and panel connection, especially suitable for T/R modular dense installation

The BNC series RF coaxial connectors are bayonet connectors. The interface is divided into 50Ω and 75Ω, the frequency range is DC ~ 4GHz

The following two sets of connector types, each type of interface in this group can be directly connected to each other without an adapter. The frequency range is in accordance with the lower frequency limit.
